MOVIE |
This is one movie I really loved since I first saw it quite a few years ago.
It's the story of Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) and Sally Albright (Meg Ryan) They are 2
University students who ride together to New York while bickering all the way, they part
ways and never see each other again.
5 years later they see each other again and have a
brief flight together and they still don't get along. Another 5 years go by and it looks
like 3rd time lucky and they actually become close friends.
So finally after 10
years, Harry eventually falls in love with Sally and things eventually come to a head.
This is a great romantic comedy written by Nora Ephron with great direction by Rob Reiner.
Highly Recommended.

VIDEO |
For a movie 10 years old the quality is quite good. The whole
transfer does seem the slightest bit soft and the end credits did flicker somewhat, but
these are the main problems. The flesh colors seemed spot on and there were no
visible artifacts and makes some more modern movie's transfers look pretty crap.
When Harry Met Sally is framed at
1:85:1/16:9 enhanced on
side A
and there is a standard 4:3 Full Frame version on side B
This is a double-sided, single layer disc.

AUDIO |
A standard Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack on this disc. This doesn't really bother
me here as the movie was originally released in this format anyway, if it was a DD5.1
movie I would have been upset. As for the quality, it's pretty standard fare that is
mainly centered to the front soundstage. The surrounds don't get much use at all, some
music & ambience are sent to the rear speakers but that is it. The .1 channel was dead
for this one.

FINAL THOUGHTS |
A fun disc to watch with the other half. Get it if you still can.
