It's hard to believe that I have never seen this movie. This is
the seminal classic that is known as one of Hitchcock's best and made one
of the most famous scenes in movie history. Marion Crane (Janet Leigh)
works at a real estate agent and is entrusted with $40000 dollars from a
property sale.
On her way to the bank thoughts run through her head about
taking the money to help out her lover from his financial troubles.
Eventually she folds and decides to take it. On the way to her lover's
place she stops off at the Bates motel, little does she know that this
will be her final night of life.
Wonderful stuff with and excellent score
by Bernard Herrmann which is one of the best scores I have ever heard in a
movie.

For
a movie nearing 40 years in age this transfer is very good. Granted there
is some grain in the film but this looks like the original film than the
transfer. On the whole though the movie is the best you could get it
today.
Psycho is framed at 1:85:1 and is 16:9 enhanced.
This is a single-sided, single layer disc.

The movie is encoded in Dolby Digital 1.0 audio, and sounds very
flat, but as this movie is nigh on 40 years old there may not have been an
original soundtrack to re-master the audio, still a 5.1 remix would have
been preferred
The dialog was clear throughout

Not many extras on this disc. Firstly the original theatrical
trailer in 1:33 format in DD1.0 sound which is more like a documentary
than a trailer. You also get some very extensive production notes and cast
notes.
