Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil Warner Bros. / 1997 / 149 Mins / Rated M15+
While there Jim Williams murder's his gay lover Billy Hanson (Jude Law). Williams claims it was self defense.
A court case ensues and Kelso decides to be a part of it and report for his magazine.
This is an enjoyable movie although a little slow and it runs a little too long. Please Mr. Eastwood trim the running time of some of your movies!
One saving grace is that this movie has great performances from it's main cast and co-stars.
Lookout for our own Jack Thompson with a bad American accent as Williams defense attorney.
Midnight's transfer is wonderfully sharp throughout. Shadow detail varied between excellent and average. This was the only problem with the transfer.
Colors were vivid and well rendered which really brought Savannah to life.
There were no MPEG artifacts or film artifacts present.
This is a disappointing Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack.
Surrounds were used infrequently and seemed muffled like a bad 2.0 sound track.
There were times when dialog was hard to hear as well due to what seems bad mixing as other front effect drowned out some of the speech.
The .1 channel wasn't used.
Next to no extras are present.
