MOVIE |
It was only about a month since I saw this one at the theatre, I liked it so
much I thought I would get it and here it is. Bill Parish (Sir Anthony Hopkins) is a
wealthy mogul who is about to have his 65th birthday, in the opening scenes he gets some
pain in his left arm and he hears a voice saying "yes."
He ignores it and life
goes on, the next day his daughter Susan (Claire Forlani) is eating in a coffee shop and
meets a charming young man (Brad Pitt) after there meeting he is hit by a car &
killed.
Meanwhile, that night bill meets the same man and he is told that he is Death and
he has come to take Bill, at first he doesn't believe him but the strange man makes him an
offer.
Show me how to live and you can spend some more time on this earth, Bill agrees and
what follows is a fun tale of life, love and making the most of life, even if there are
large hurdles to jump. Highly Recommended.

VIDEO |
The video quality of this disc exhibits generally good color
fidelity with only a few slight inconsistencies. There was some slight noise and shimmer
in the print but this was only a minor problem and all the objects were very sharp
throughout
Meet Joe Black is framed at 1:85:1 and is 16:9 enhanced,
also like The Truman Show the picture is not framed properly at the center either, but
this is a little gripe.
This is a single-sided, dual layer disc. The layer change
is very well hidden, I could not find it.

AUDIO |
There are several sound formats on this disc. English Dolby Digital 5.1 &
French Dolby Digital 2.0. I listened to the English DD5.1 soundtrack. The soundtrack was
mainly centered to the front of the soundstage with the surrounds getting used for music
and ambient sound, it is very clear though.
The dialog is easy to listen to and is very well mixed.
Wonderful.
