The Lost Boys
Warner Bros. / 1987 / 93 Mins / Rated M15+

MOVIE
Here's a movie I haven't seen in quite a while.

The Lost Boys is a story that revolves around Sam & Michael, two brothers who have just moved with there mother to Santa Carla, the supposed death capital of the world, people are disappearing and are ending up dead.

One night Michael goes off with some of his new friends and something happens to him, he's not quite sure what though quite yet.

He discovers that all of his friends are actually vampires and he has been turned into one himself.

Now can Michael and his brother turn things back to normal or will he and the rest of the town become creatures of the night.

VIDEO
Picture quality on this disc is average at best. There does seem to be quite a few to many MPEG artifacts for my liking. The darkened scenes are well rendered though. Colors also seem a little lacking as well. Not the best video transfer.

The Lost Boys is framed at 2:35:1and is 16:9 enhanced.

AUDIO
The Lost Boys has been re mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1, now although this is a good thing the actual movie seems a little flat in the surrounds and as such doesn't create the most immersive of sound fields. The soundtrack is mainly based towards the front of the soundstage with very little surround usage. Ditto for the .1 channel.
EXTRAS
There are not many extras on this disc. The theatrical trailer, which really sucks and does a terrible job at selling the movie and some production notes. That's your lot. C'mon WB get with the picture we want extras.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Ah if your a fan of these flicks get it, but I think this one is only worth a rental.
