MOVIE |
The plot of In the line of Fire is not new, It involves the story of an assassin
who wants to assassinate the President of the United States. Our story begins as Frank
Horrigan (Clint Eastwood) investigates a death threat towards the President by a shadowy
figure we come to know as Booth (John Malkovich) in one of his best ever performances.
As
we delve further into the movie we learn the Horrigan is hunted by his failure to protect
President Kennedy 30 years earlier, so he is even more determined now to protect this
President.
Along with the obligatory love interest Lily Raines (Rene Russo) the story has
enough twists and turns as the suspense builds perfectly to it's climax.
And it's a great
directing effort by Wolfgang Peterson. (Air Force One)

VIDEO |
The transfer on In The Line of Fire is
outstanding in quality and would rate it as one of the best transfer's to DVD I have
seen so far. The shadow detail is clear and there is very little noise, while the color
format is of very high standard.
In The Line of Fire is framed at 2:35:1and
is 16:9 enhanced.

AUDIO |
In The Line of Fire is encoded in a few sound formats namely, English Dolby
Digital 5.1, MPEG Multi channel 5.1 and MPEG 2 channel. On the whole the sound is
relatively clear and easy to listen to although there were a few scenes where it was a little hard to
hear the dialog channel if there is a lot of ambient noise, but this is very rare. On the
whole I found the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound format of best quality. The movie makes quite
good use of the rear channels when needed and builds atmosphere perfectly.

|
FINAL THOUGHTS |
This disc is a great addition to the Columbia Tri-Star range and a worthy
addition to your collection. It's got a great picture and sound and is a great watch for a
fun time at home. |
