The Getaway is the story of Doc McCoy and his wife, after he gets out of the joint, he and
his wife have to participate in a robbery with the local crime boss on a big bank.
But
what McCoy realizes is, he is being setup, so he double crosses the other bad guys and
makes off with his wife and the money, to try and get to the Mexican border, while being
chased by the cops as well as some really peeved hoods.
The movie has some great car
chases and shootouts as well. A good all round thriller/action flick.

All I can say is wow, here's a movie that was made in 1972 and the transfer looks as clean
as something that was made this year. The picture is very clean and doe's not suffer from
much MPEG noise at all, very nice. I'm impressed Warner
Brothers.
This is a single sided, single layer
disc.
The Getaway is framed at 2:35:1 and
is 16:9 enhanced.

Only one sound format on this
disc. Mono, ah what happened WB? While it sounds very nice and all, the movie feels flat
because of no surround use. If you are a purist though you probably wouldn't give to
hoots.

| EXTRAS |
|
The
only extras on this disc are cast & production notes and there are no trailers
whatsoever which makes the disc lose a few points in my book.
Subtitles include: English, Arabic,
Closed Captions.

| FINAL THOUGHTS |
|
Great movie, great picture, pity about the sound and lack of extras. Only get if your into
this type of movie or your a die hard DVD fanatic.
