MOVIE |
Eraser was one of the last action flicks that Arnold Schwarzenegger did before
his long absence from the cinema screen.
He plays U.S. Marshall John Kruger who erases
witness protection program members who are to stand as state's evidence in large trial's
to protect them for assassination attempts. His latest job is to protect Vanessa Williams,
a woman from a defense industry contractor that makes high-tech weapons.
After she gets
information that they are selling weapons illegally to mercenary groups she gets the
information to the feds, but now her life is in danger. Someone in Arnie's own department
is killing off witnesses and big Arnold must find out who is doing this while trying to
protect his witness while dodging hard to beat weapons.
Gee, Arnie should feel right at
home here.

VIDEO |
This was one of the first movies release on the DVD format in
Region 1. The picture itself is of a very high standard for a Warner disc. The
colors are
vivid the brightness and contrast are spot on also, the picture is very sharp. There were
no visual artifacts present at all with this disc. High marks on this one.
Eraser is framed at 2:35:1 and is 16:9 enhanced.
This is a single-sided, single layer disc.

AUDIO |
What a blast, literally! This disc is a workout on the speakers. The .1 channel
is frequently used on this one to underscore not only special effects but portions of
music as well. This is a very SFX filled movie. The surrounds also get a huge beating as
well, the was also a great lot of well designed sound steering on this disc as well.
The dialog is always easy to listen to on this disc. Near
perfect audio actually.
|
EXTRAS |
This is the biggest letdown of the disc, the only main extra is the theatrical
trailer framed at 1:85:1/16:9 enhanced with DD 2.0 sound, it's not a bad trailer but it
doesn't sell the movie that well.
