Bullitt
Warner Bros. / 1968 / 109 Mins / Rated M15+

MOVIE
Another one of Steve McQueen's older movies on show here. Bullitt is the story of Frank Bullitt a policeman who is assigned to protect a witness from being knocked-off before a court case, but along the way he finds some resistance coming in the form of his own boss (Robert Vaughn).

Who are the good guys, who are the bad. Why was the witness he was protecting gotten to so easy.

It can't get any more cut & dried than that. And you will be figuring out the rest very easily from watching it.

The movie itself features some of the best stunt driving you will see in a movie and was the perfect vehicle for a Steve McQueen movie.

VIDEO
The print itself is of average quality and is just passable on this format. There are some MPEG artifact present on this disc and the colors seem a little muted as well. The picture itself is sharp, but the brightness & contrast are way off.

Bullitt is framed at 1:85:1 and is 16:9 enhanced.

This is a Single Layer disc. So no layer change occurs.

AUDIO

31 years old and they have transferred this one into Dolby Digital 2.0. Well that's better than 1.0 I guess.

The soundtrack itself is unexciting but easy to listen to. The surrounds barely get to say hello.

The dialog was clear all the way through.

The .1 channel had nothing to say.

For a movie this old I can't really complain.

EXTRAS
A couple of extras here. First the theatrical trailer in DD2.0 framed at 1:85:1 and secondly there is a short featurette about the making of the movie.

On top of this is the obligatory scene access menus and cast & crew notes.

Subtitles in English, Arabic, Closed Captions.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Just don't buy this one, rent it okay.
