Blown Away is the story of Jimmy Dove
(Jeff Bridges), he is a bomb expert for the Boston PD. Jimmy begins
to investigate a series of explosions and realizes that they are the
work of an old adversary, Ryan Garrity (Tommy Lee Jones). Turns out
that Garrity has a score to settle with Dove and he will kill anyone
or blow anything up to meet that goal. This is quite a good action
flick with a good use of music from U2 which I found most enjoyable.
It's interesting to note that part of the story credit went to an M.
Jay Roach, future director of the Austin Powers movies.

This is a
problematic transfer. While the transfer was sharp and the shadow
detail were spot on, the colors seemed quite muted and there were
numerous film artifacts throughout. There were also several MPEG
artifacts at various points throughout. Blwon
Away is framed at 2:35:1 and is
16:9 enhanced, the label states 1:85:1, this is incorrect.
This is a single-sided,
single layer disc.

This is a great soundtrack.
Encoded in Dolby 5.1 sound it is very immersive with good use of the
surrounds and the .1 channel. The room thundered with the sound of
explosions. All in all a very good soundstage.

here, but they are appreciated.
