Birdy (Matthew Modine) is a Vietnam
vet who lives in a catatonic state in a hospital thinking he is a
bird. The shrinks at the hospital get in Birdy's best friend
played by Nicolas Cage to help him out and hopefully get birdy
back to a normal state.
This movie itself seems quite
weak but some of the performances bring this movie up a few
notches but still stays in the realms of the mediocre.

For a movie on a single layer the
quality of the video is very good.
The transfer is very sharp, colors
or well rendered and shadow detail is acceptable. There is some film
grain evident but nothing too bad to spoil the transfer.
Birdy is framed at 1:85:1 and is
16:9 enhanced.

The audio is very limited in this movie.
Dolby Digital 2.0 encoded, it is located towards the front of the
soundstage with minimal surround use. Very unexciting

This is a bit of a jip for 40 dollars.
