| No real plot on this one, much like the Wild Rhapsody disc. Basically it tells
the story of the yearly migrating heard of animals through the Serengeti
plains in Africa.
Shot in the spectacular IMAX format
the scenes and cinematography are breathtaking.
From Cheetah's, Lions, Hyena's and
other African dwelling animals this is an enjoyable documentary if
a bit short in length.
The documentary is well narrated by James Earl Jones, A.K.A Darth Vader or Mufasa from the
Lion King. Good Choice for a narrator really and his voice simply adds to
the documentary. |

This is a region 0 formatted DVD. The disc is in fact formatted in NTSC and has a
ratio
of 4:3 in full frame format which is slightly modified from it's original
1:44:1 aspect ratio. While the picture quality isn't to bad, it does suffer from the
occasional MPEG artifact, and some scenes do seem very fuzzy at times.

This disc is formatted in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround. While sounding acceptable,
the whole soundstage is very unremarkable. But it's enough to get the message across for
this type of documentary.

| I can't really give a hearty recommendation on this disc, it's pretty bog
standard and doesn't include many features for the price, pity though because it is a
great documentary with excellent footage, if it were about 20 dollars then I would
recommend buying it. |
